Scientific achievements and developments
For the entire period of the laboratory's existence
– A solid-frame, liquid-mosaic model of biomembranes was postulated, a concept was created and substantiated on the stressed metastable state of biomembranes and its role in the regulation of biochemical and physiological processes;
– The nature of ultraviolet fluorescence of proteins and the energetics of the tryptophan molecule have been deciphered, its informational capabilities for the conformational analysis of macromolecules, biological membranes and cells have been revealed;
– Physicochemical factors for the production of nanoliposomal forms of compounds of hydrophobic nature have been established. Technologies have been developed to produce effective liposomal forms of drugs: an anti-tuberculosis antibiotic for inhalation, antiviral drugs, cytostatics, a vitamin drug with increased bioavailability (liposomal β-carotene) and the fatty acid complex “Bien" (an analogue of pulmonary surfactant);
– The foundations of membrane ozone biology have been created, based on the use of new technologies for local asepticization of drinking water and food storage, as well as effective biotechnological production of ATP and other physiologically active substances from yeast biomass using ozone.
Over the last 5 years
– In vitro study of the properties of dendritic cells in order to develop a method for producing a biomedical cell product
intended for the treatment of cancer and autoimmune diseases;
– Approaches to cellular immunotherapy of oncological diseases using monocytic dendritic cells have been developed;
– Studies are being conducted on structural bioinformatics, structural cell biophysics, computer design of drugs.Using the method of mathematical modeling developed a line of compounds with potential antitumor activity (IBCE-X1 – IBCE-X17);
– Structural computer modeling of the proapoptotic and antiapoptotic action of proteins of the Bcl-2 family, mediated by mitochondrial receptors VDAC2, TOM40, TOM20, TOM22, TOM70, has been carried out, and the mechanisms of the antiapoptotic action of proteins of the Bcl-2 family have been identified.
Developments and implementations
For the laboratory’s developments, 20 inventor’s certificates and patents were received, more than 30 implementations of developments were carried out into academic activity.
