The main objectives of the Molecular Modeling and Bioinformatics Sector are:
— Conducting fundamental and applied research in the field of immunology, virology, biophysics, bioinformatics, molecular modeling and related disciplines.
— Molecular modeling. Study of the mechanism of action of various chemical structures (small molecules and synthetic oligomers) that have demonstrated antiviral activity, computer design of their modifications in order to enhance the latter. Search for new structures with antiviral activity, both among small molecules and among natural and synthetic oligomers. Modeling of metabolic pathways associated with the formation of various viruses in cells.
— Molecular modeling of the interactions of immune molecules, structural modeling of the immunological synapse and the mechanisms of immune checkpoint functioning
— Bioinformatics and computer-aided design of drugs with antitumor and antiviral activity.
