Determination of the cellular composition (immunophenotyping) of blood lymphocytes
This type of analysis is a basic study in assessing the immune status (immunogram). In fact, this is a characteristic of cells, obtained by detecting differentiation markers (CD antigens) on their surface, and making it possible to judge their type and functional state. The method is aimed not only at determining the quantitative ratio of the main populations of lymphocytes but also at assessing small cell populations, as well as studying their functional activity at the moment.
The immunogram does not reflect the state of the pathologically altered organ or system, but it allows you to assess the immune system as a whole. This study helps to establish the mechanisms of immunological disorders, to clarify the degree and depth of damage to the immune system, and to specify the immunological defect, and also serves as the basis for appropriate replacement therapy or immunocorrection, or evaluating the effectiveness of the treatment. Analysis of the dynamics of immunograms makes the treatment of chronic somatic, allergic, autoimmune, and infectious diseases more targeted.
