History
The Laboratory of biophysics and biochemistry of plant cells was founded in 1958 by the corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Sciences, doctor of biological sciences, professor Alexander Arkadievich Shlyk as a laboratory of biophysics and isotopes of the Academy of Sciences of the BSSR. In 1966 the laboratory was renamed the Laboratory of biophysics and biochemistry of the photosynthetic apparatus, and in 2004 – the laboratory of biophysics and biochemistry of plant cells.
From 1958 to 1985, the laboratory was headed by a corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Sciences, doctor of biological sciences, professor Alexander Arkadevich Shlyk. 1985 to 2001 – doctor of biological sciences, professor Natalia Georgievna Averina. 2002 to 2019 the laboratory was headed by a corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, doctor of biological sciences Nikolai Vladimirovich Shalygo. Since 2019, the laboratory is headed by Ph.D. Mikalai Uladzimirvich Kozel.
